Hand-to-Hand

Hand-to-Hand skills involve Flyers handstanding on top of their Base (or Bases)’s hands. Once the fundamentals are mastered, they open up the possibilities to a huge range of balances, poses and dynamic transitions in both Standing and L-Basing acro.

Foot-to-Hand

Skills where the flyer stands in the base’s hands with both feet — or just one! A classic in both L-basing and standing acro, and a launchpad for more dynamic tricks.

Pops & Icarians

A pop is a type of dynamic, L-basing transition between poses where the Base throws the Flyer while still maintaining a one or more points of contact. In Icarians, Bases and Flyers fully disconnect, releasing contact completely so that Flyers can really fly – just the myth the skill takes its name from.

Whips

Leveraging the inertia and momentum from Flyers to swing on their Base’s feet and through their legs, Whips are some of the most dynamic and exciting acro transitions in the world of L-Basing.

Group Acro

More than two people? More fun. Group acro cover everything from human pyramids, tower building, base swapping and “pass-the-flyer” fun.

Counter Balances

Partners lean away to share a centre of gravity, sculpting gravity-defying shapes that teach communication and connection.

Handstands

Handstand (or Handbalance) is the art of balancing upside down on one or both hands. Developing a strong and stable kick up and hold allows acrobats to develop more challenging positions such as stag, tuck, straddle, diamond and the “seven”; and to develop advanced skills like presses, tilts and even one armed handstands.

L-Base Fundamentals

The bread and butter of AcroYoga with the base lying down, legs in the air, building shapes like bird, star, and throne. Many acrobats start their journey here.
